WHAT IS SASCI, Inc.?
SASCI, Inc. is an Education Advocacy/ Consultant Service, with emphasis in Special Education, P.L. 101-476, Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), for parents, families, youth, schools (public/ public charter/private), residential treatment centers, health care providers (HMO), organizations and agencies responsible for the care of children.
SASCI will evaluate/assess, identify, develop and implement Education Services for Systems of Care. SASCI offers counseling, professional development, resource materials and ongoing support to create and implement a therapeutic milieu (environment). The designs of the education programs are backed by research and solid evidence that demonstrates effectiveness over time.
SASCIs goal is to enlighten, encourage and empower families and professionals so that they are equipped to deliver quality treatment and services to challenged individuals.
ABOUT THE PRESIDENT / FOUNDER / CEO
SASCI, Inc. was established in June 2000 by Dr. Ava Hughes-Booker to provide comprehensive Education Advocacy Service for children, adolescents and families. Dr. Booker has been privileged to serve and advocate for challenged individuals in the field of Special Education in the Washington Metropolitan area for more than 25 years. She has been committed and dedicated to serve the populations of individuals who have been abused/neglected/abandoned and who are t cally ignored, misunderstood, over-identified ar underserved by Systems of Care.
Dr. Booker has extensive national research experience in Special Education. The analysis of research and the data that she has collected over the years ignited her vision for the creation of SASCI.
